I loved the American Museum of Natural History panel discussion I attended in December on the Silk Road through Spices. I learned so much and was entertained by the panel who worked well together and all contributed knowledge and humor to a wonderful evening.

The museum’s Adventures in the Global Kitchen series continues with “Silk Road and Tea” on March 24th.

South of the Silk Road, the ancient Horse Caravan Route linked Yunnan province in southwest China with Tibet and India for tea-dominated trade. Join Morris Rossabi, distinguished professor of history at City University of New York, and Sebastian Beckwith from the tea supplier, In Pursuit of Tea, Inc., as they discuss various teas of the Silk Road era, the history of the tea trade, and beliefs in the medical and religious value of tea. And taste a selection of teas to learn about modern variations.

This program is part of a series of tastings and lectures for adults and educational programming for children offered at The American Museum of Natural History in conjunction with the exhibition Traveling the Silk Road: Ancient Pathway to the Modern World, on view until August 15.
