Jack's Tulips

I’ve been buying flowers from Jacks Flowers at the Union Square Greenmarket on Saturdays for a couple of years now. He has lilies year-round, which I love because they’re in large, beautiful arrangements that keep for a week — even in the hands of a plant-killer like me. I was particularly excited last weekend to find that tulips are in season. I didn’t choose the breathtakingly gorgeous French tulips at $30 a bunch but opted for two bunches of the yellow peony tulips ($10/bunch). I’ll splurge next week for the classic French, but for now my life is already brighter with these beautiful creatures in my home!
