Proof of Youth

Speaking of the Go! Team, they’re back! This time they stick to their original formula of double Dutch schoolyard chants and Saturday morning TV theme rockers with one key difference: rather than relying heavily on samples this time out, bandleader Ian Parton goes with a live band approach with samples blended in. They even throw in an original appearance from Chuck D of Public Enemy for good measure. This is a spectacular continuation of their debut, and in some ways, I think it’s more focused and possibly better. I often think of their sound as “The Peanuts Gang” rocking the house with a bit of hip-hop edge. One of the best albums of the year!
