“Cleaniless is next to godliness,” as the saying goes, and anyone who knows me well knows that I subscribe to this creed. And I love finding products and gadgets for this purpose. So imagine my joy when I discovered a store in Portland, Oregon, dedicated to the art of cleaning.
GR Scrub is a creative concept store. Here, you will find cleaning products and implements ranging from the German Redecker natural brush for cleaning the food processor ($6.50) to a Texan horse-hair broom ($25) which you use by pushing the dirt away from you rather than towards you. There is even a kid’s corner with a child-size iron ($5) and ironing board ($16) to initiate the young ones.
The best part is proprietor Glenn Recchia’s in-depth knowledge. Shop for your products and fire away questions you’ve always wanted to ask concerning how to clean something or what products work best. I grilled him on how to get the grout in my bathroom tiles snow white. When you walk out of the store, you will be steps closer to immaculate living.
