Sometimes the simplest dishes are the hardest to get right. The house-made spaghetti at L’Impero is simply spaghetti with tomato and basil, but it is true perfection. You will not find spaghetti with tomato and basil as good as this anywhere in town — not even in your own kitchen. The spaghetti has just enough bite to it and the tomato and basil are tasty and refreshing. It’s fun to have this dish and some drinks at the bar, which is a low-key alternative to the formal dining room.
