The name oxtail pie is slightly misleading as you might be expecting something like a pot pie. But this is actually a shepherd’s pie of soft braised oxtail topped with a simple dollop of whipped potatoes. Mmm! Though it’s a small plate, don’t be deceived by its size as it’s rich enough to serve as an entrée. It’s downright comfort food that’s hearty and hits the spot, especially when it’s cold outside. I wouldn’t miss this one, so head to Chestnut while it’s still on the menu. Plus check out their new bar. In fact, I’d recommend that you enjoy the oxtail pie right there.

mmm…I love oxtail and generally prepare it over rice, but mashed potatoes sounds good too.
Isn’t Carroll Street a cool area? Quite a few nice restaurants though I don’t know Chestnut.
