At $7, the prosecco lychee martini at Graffiti may be one of the best steals in town. It’s so good that it’s justified as the only cocktail on the menu. Served in a large glass that resembles a martini glass without the stem, the blend of homemade lychee sorbet and prosecco make a refreshing pairing. These two parts act as the sweet and tangy complements of this “martini.” This cocktail appears on the food menu as it is yet another of Chef Jehangir Mehta’s tasty creations. But it’s just to get you started; the rest of the menu and the adorably tiny (seriously tiny) restaurant make the entire dining experience such a treat.

Peanut Shake

I finally took a break from the toasted marshmallow shake at Stand and strategically chose a new flavor: peanut. Not hazelnut or peanut butter, just good ol’ simple peanut. With Il Laboratorio del Gelato’s gelato as the base, Stand’s milkshakes seem unbearably sweet when they first hit your tongue, but after one sip, your mouth enters a state of bliss and the super sweetness is quickly forgotten. The nutty milkshake comes equipped with a wide straw, so you thoroughly enjoy the thickness and fine peanut crumbs. It’s no toasted marshmallow shake, but it’s a very close second.

Stand may be a burger joint, but it’s probably best known for it’s toasted marshmallow shake. This glass of pure decadence is something everyone should try at least once, even if you’re not a big fan of sweets. A sip of the thick, rich ice cream shake is sure to evoke, “Oh my god! What is this heavenly delight?” What’s more, it’s topped with two real toasted marshmallows! As you down this drink, you’ll experience euphoria.

Does Seagram’s Ginger Ale actually contain ginger? Well, it’s the first ingredient in Stand’s homemade ginger ale. At Stand, your soda is made to order with three simple ingredients: strained ginger purée, seltzer, and simple syrup. If you want more of a ginger bite or love soda for the sugar, just tell them. And to top it off, the soda is served with a generous amount of crushed ice, great for chomping — my favorite!

Hot Chocolate

City Bakery’s hot chocolate is the standard to which New Yorkers hold this true winter craving. Since the chill kicked in, I’ve been going every day to get my fix of this classic. “A shot” — four ounces — of this rich, thick and dreamy chocolate drink is just the right size to satiate my craving — temporarily, that is — and keep me coming back for more.
