This week’s winners are Jennifer and Claire. Congratulations!

Below is the original Baking Friday post from this week.

Q: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DINNER PARTY OR EVENT THIS YEAR?

Scroll down below to enter a comment. Make sure to click on “submit” after the preview appears on screen. Send in your answer by 5pm today and you will automatically be entered into the drawing to win 6 treats of your choice from the Treats Truck.

Winners will be contacted via email to arrange for prize pick up from the Treats Truck.

Have you seen that silver Treats Truck parked in your neighborhood or driving around the City? It’s hard to miss, especially after you’ve tasted their baked goods.

In addition to classics, they add a little twist to their sweets, so there’s not just the regular rice crispy square and oatmeal cookie but there’s also oatmeal jammy and cran almond crispy.

The Treats Truck Sugar Dots

But I’m currently stuck on the caramel creme sandwich cookies (photo at the top of the page) and the sugar dots (photo above). These are simple treats but they really hit the spot!

Thank you, Treats Truck, for this week’s Baking Fridays contribution!

The best “dinner party” I went to this year was held on Labor Day; my favorite local restaurant was closed for the day, but I happened to catch the chef on his way into the restaurant for a cold beer after he and a friend had taken a day-long bike ride through Manhattan. With the doors to restaurant officially closed, he fired up the grill and whipped up burgers, an heirloom tomato salad, and a big bowl of fresh summer fruits. Such simple pleasures, but so memorable still.

why, the Cravings event at Caffe Falai, of course! Kyotofu could top it, though…

that’s easy—i had a small dinner party at my home with food prepared by an austrian chef—I had won the evening in an auction last Spring

Last weekend my family gathered in my brother’s new 1830’s farmhouse in southern Vermont for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner. There were 15 of us in total, and my brother roasted the most perfect turkey. We were celebrating being together and the purchase of their new home, something they had been working on all summer. We could have eaten plain spaghetti and it still would have been wonderful. It’s the company that made it special, though the home-cooked food and wine from Newton Vineyards tasted especially good.

My company had an early Thanksgiving-themed potluck dinner at our office and asked a dozen of our friends to bring their own creations. We also had five very wonderful kinds of wines that went well with the food. The only challenge was heating things/keeping things warm at our kitchen-less office.

A small family dinner I hosted in my apartment. It was the first time I was able to use the dishes I’d registered for and although I don’t enjoy cooking, I’m a baker, I made a whole dinner and a few desserts. It was really nice to have people over and enjoy relaxing after all the preparations.

An intimate dinner for 8 friends in my country authentic log cabin. Table was placed in front of the two story fireplace and the food was “simplistic, country, comfort” with wines to complement. House was only lit with candles (hundreds) and the hearth!
Dreamlike fantasy meal !

The best dinner party was a participatory gyoza/ramen party my friend and I hosted.
I made the stuffing for gyoza before the party. After we enjoyed some wine, sake and appetizers, I brought out the stuffing and some finger bowls. Everyone stuffed the gyozas then cooked that right at the table on an electric grill/pot so that no one gets stuck in the kitchen. The conversation was great with this new experience for everyone! After having lots of alcoholic beverages, I made some ramen noodles in the same shallow electric pot/grill at the table and satisfied our tummies and mind.
